Adam Handler 1968 —

Biography

"As I started to mature I began writing poetry and writing music in which I would perform my new found obsessions in front of the few that would listen. I eventually started to illustrate whirling figures or landscapes around my writings, and realized maybe there's a possibility to combine these two art forms into one cohesive piece of art. "
__Adam Handler

Adam D. Handler was born in Queens NY and grew up on Long Island. As a young child and through his teens, he spent countless hours at his grandmother's framing factory in New York City - where some of the greatest art from Picasso's to Jasper Johns paintings are framed. An artistic disposition and his passion for art developed together.

It became inevitable that he too would discover the many possibilities of art. As a college student, Adam studied Life Drawing in Italy and went on to graduate from Suny Purchase College with a B.A. in Art History along with a minors in Fine Arts. Handler had decided not to limit himself to just painting, but studied sculpture, photography and graphic design. He has also studied craft design with Jorge Nieves and printing color photography with Debra Mesa-Pelly. From there, Adam set up his studio in Long Island City, NY. He has exhibited his work in New York City, Greenwich CT, Canada, and Texas.
Handler's works at Vered Gallery's "Art on the Edge-2010" sold out.

Adam has no plans of slowing down and continues to create new series of works and photographic editions.
